extra money
by: activewhere do other houses get their money from to put on elaborate events (like big sisterhood trips, really nice decorations for rush, etc)? i know obviously some of the money from dues goes towards that but most house's dues are relatively in the same ball park. is this money coming from alum and parent donations?

Almost everything comes from dues. The biggest difference in dues is how much a chapter's housing costs are. A chapter with a brand new house and a huge mortgage will have less to spend on extras than a chapter whose dues are the same but has an older, paid off house.
Some extras come from alumnae and parents but the huge majority is from dues.
