by: Dropped 😢I've been dropped. Can I try SDT and the Christian one? I noticed there are some other houses ranked on here that didn't participate either- AKA, ZPB, and another?? Are they similar to SDT andbthe Christian house?

They definitely won't have a house by the time they come to campus as they haven't started building one yet and they generally take 12-18 months to build. They may be given a swing house temporarily and began construction as soon as they find a place. They said they were going to build a house ASAP during their colonization presentation, though.

I'm sorry! I would make friends on campus and COB, or Sigma Kappa may be a good choice. Last year a bunch of sororities did fall COB because that adjusted all sorority total was so high after recruitment was over. They need members to pay for these massive houses. Good luck to you!

Thank you all so much. I really appreciate you taking time to respond. I'm white, Christian, and from "far OOS." I have really good grades but I don't know anyone and I'm shy so I might not have seemed to put forth enough effort. I was a little overwhelmed. I researched but I'm the first in my family to even go to college. Im trying not to let myself get too upset over this. Thank you for explaining the "black and white"- I didn't know. I just want to make friends and not end up being homesick. I fell in love with UA when I visited the first time!

I'm pretty sure the sigma kappa reps are on campus right now. I would go and just talk to them and see what process for them will be next year. I heard they are getting a temp. house until they build their own. If not time, try and make some friends in the sororities and maybe go in COB?

Hey girl don't worry I got dropped from the four houses I got back from philanthropy round! I'm keeping my head high and doing COB. Litterally a lot of girls take it to the heart and there's no need for that! But the way I view it is I would rather be the girl that got dropped and moves on than having a girl do something drastic to herself. God does everything for a reason I wish the best for you and for everyone who is reading this! :)

I got dropped by all. But then, I got very involved on campus, went through COB, had several chapters interested in me, and pledges the one I love.
Remember, all houses use ranking lists. You might have been liked by a house but your grades, or one low vote could have pushed you below cut off on the list. COB it is not the crazy, spend a few minutes experience... it becomes more personal and gives members a chance to really talk to you. By then you might know some chapter women as well. All it takes is one house!

i am also very interested in doing COB!! could you explain the process a little more, and maybe how it happened or what you did for COB/to prepare??

Check Pan Hel site to see when you need to sign up. While your waiting, het involved on campus as your best self and be open to new friendships and make good grades! Also, consider Sigma Kappa opportunity! Helping to start a chapter at Bama would a great honor!

SDT or ADX would be lucky to have you! If either interest you at all, I really suggest checking them out during their recruitment. If you feel a click then try joining! If you go and realize it isn't for you, there is alwasy COB and Sigma Kappa next fall. Maximize your options and don't be scared to just go feel something out!
I have friends in SDT who went to their open house to just to see what it was about and now they're active members who love their sisters!

Wish I wouldn't of done rush- now starting my UA experience feeling like I'm not an equal as I am way OOS- forget I'm a triple legacy, 4.0er,presidential scholarship and blah blah- I'm not southern😕Didn't know it would feel like such a big deal, but it does. Very obvious the houses want the southern girls.
