cuts

by: mean girl

there was a thread earlier about girls who were mean in high school or had bad reputations, about to find out that mattered in rush . i think that is about to happen but please learn from it and don't keep it up in college. those cuts are coming

the sad thing is, a lot of mean girls end up in their first choices. these girls are usually pretty and have decent resumes. plus these girls usually have friends in houses that pull them in. it's a cycle really. which is why i think all houses should rush on merit. obviously i know that won't happen, but it'd be nice to see a nice, genuine girls with a stellar resume actually get a bid over a mean, undeserving friend.

I agree. I just graduated early and it kills me to have girls from my hometown panicking because they only have 4 or 5 invites after IWTs just because they are a little nerdy or overweight or whatever. They are wonderful, amazing, classy girls. Meanwhile the nasty girls from my church who make everyone's lives Hell are "top PNMs" with 12 invites, they'll probably all go to their top houses because the older nasty girls loves them. It's definitely a cycle like you said. Makes me sad.

I feel like all the AGD's that I met have an attitude that they are better than everyone else. I kinda laughed at them when I left the house. Like, really? YOU have an attitude? pretty lame.

I am in an OR house. My house cuts based on reputation. During work week we blacked several girls who were mean in high school. So it happens at my house, but I'm sure any other houses don't work this way. Why would we want mean girls to join out "sisterhood"??

Speaking as an active from an OTM high school in a new row house.

For me it's not that a lot of the old row girls weren't nice people, because they were. They were not nasty bullies or anything like that. But they definitely had their clique and they definitely were not going to welcome me into it after 4 years of completely ignoring me. I felt excluded and I knew I would never be their friend no matter how nice I was.

Ended up being the only girl from my high school in my PC. It was great for me, but I still resent not being as "wanted" of a PNM because I wasn't a cool girl in HS. I had a better resume, I just wasn't willing to suck up to girls I didn't get along with.
