it isn't a new thing, they we're doing it in the early 90's. My mom said how they had a slide projection with every single girl

My mom told me bout the slide show thing when I first told her I wanted to rush. She went to Bama in the 90s so it definitely has been a thing here for a long time. Back then they did every single pnm on a projector. Of course, I have no idea how many pnms there were 25 years ago, so maybe the number of pnms they show has changed.

Well, top or who we thought may be a potential strong rushee. Some seem strong at first then fall and others pop up late.

The girls that are tops are girls actives know. But, there are girls that we don't know that we may fall in love with (rush crush). If you have a great personality, someone is going to crush on you and will work to see you on their lawn on bid day.

You'll find out how your house does it when you're an active.
But yes, we do go through a slideshow of every PNM, with their picture, gpa, hometown and resume. The slideshow generally takes several days to get through. But we do go through every single pnm. We'll only spend more than a minute on them if there's something interesting about them. Generally it moves pretty fast.
If you're worried we're sitting around critiquing the way you look in your photo, we don't. We have better things to do.

Our rush team puts together a slideshow of the top 400 or so PNMs for our house based on your resume, recs, and any info we have on you from an active and social media. If you don't make the slideshow it's very hard to get a bid. Someone can develop a rush crash, but if we cross check that with a resume and rec and find something we don't love, or just something average when other girls are spectacular, then even a rush crush won't save you. Every active gets one and that fills up more than one pledge class alone. It's not necessarily "fair" but 90% of the time we aren't deciding about you during rush, the decision has already been made, That's why we tell y'all to work hard on your resume and recs, especially if you know no one at Bama, because that's what is getting you in our door more than once.

My house has a PowerPoint of maybe 60/70 girls max. And these are top top top PNMs coming through as well as legacies and friends of current actives.

You won't be cut by every house. Say there is a top 400. Those girls would only spread over three or four houses. So there are 12-13 houses still left, even if you are under the radar.

Different houses are willing to take more risk on OOS girls nobody really knows much about. Basically, because they don't fill up on in-state connected pnms and legacies, this usually means new row houses take more of this kind of risk. they take that risk because they do not have the luxury of having every pnm want them and chronically placing them high on their voting cards just because of the brand names

Yes we go through everyone who has registered for rush. How else do you think it works?
What do you think happens with all the information you give when you register for recruitment? Obviously it gets sent to the sororities.
I'm concerned that you have so little knowledge on how the process works. It makes me wonder if you even have recs if you're wondering how we would know your name...

My house has a slideshow of every PNM. Not just the top ones. Just fyi. But we generally only spend time talking about the top pnms or the ones we know we need to cut.
Also, you pnms need to stop asking which house does what. That's private information. The only house you'll ever truly know what goes on behind the scenes is the one you join. Everything else is just rumors.

houses with a bunch of legacies coming through will also spend time in work week going through slides of the legacies. the decision on which legacies to carry forward after the grace period (usually through second round) is a major strategic decision for the in-demand houses. There usually is pressure to limit the legacies carried so that actives can have more room to work with in a PC to have more hand-picked top girls. lots of legacies are top and we are so hype to have you but lots are also below what we really want and we don't love having to take them and sorta want to limit the damage lol.

Modern recruitment calls for the use of modern media. But no media is better than face-to-face meetings occurring between pnms and initiated sorority women during recruitment. Never underestimate the power of strong, capable women gathering into groups.
