There is so much fakeness during rush that it will shock you after you get your bid and join your sorority. Honestly the way the whole process works just invites ingenuousness so it's pretty much the name of the game. The sorority girls pretty much have to pretend to like you no matter what.

It's not just the Greeks. LOTS of Fake people all over campus. Everybody wanting to be what they weren't in HS. It's just the way it is.

Look the process is worse for actives than pnms. We have to make mindless chatter with you, then immediately rank you. We feel bad. I had a girl in my class last year that I rushed and she refused to look at me. i really thought she was cool, but it's a political process, and you have to cut great girls. Just realize that we hate that part of recruitment, it's no fun.

honestly rush is fake as hell and if you don't already know people in the sorority then you are gonna be pretty surprised with what you see after bid day. you really don't get to know anyone in the fake small talk you have during rush. just be nice and look your best and hope that your gpa and resume will get you into a good house. they don't care about your personality or character lol

No. We don't pretend to like you. We are welcoming and polite to everyone we invite into our home. We are interested in getting to know you to see if you are a fit for our chapter.
