connections
by: pnmI really don't get when it's said "you HAVE to have connections" to get into xyz house. I mean half of the girls rushing are from out of state! I highly doubt ALL these girls have connections. Maybe if you're from Alabama and no one knows you, I can see how that would be a problem. But what about the other 1300-1400 other girls?

Most OR houses, especially KD, AGD, DDD, and XO are made up of a majority of girls who were friends in high school... Thus why it's so hard a regular PNM to catch their interest. The only time they're interested in an OOS girl is when said girl is extremely well rounded. But besides friends, certain houses that place a heavy emphasis on connections fill out their pledge class with "filler girls" (see other threads about what that is).
