I think most girls are sympathetic because rush is such a long and stressful week and it's incredibly hard to end in on a disappointment. If a girl has a continually bad attitude on retreat and isn't able to suck it up then she might rub people the wrong way. If you are disappointed do your best to put on a brace face and give your house a fair shot

Opening your bid is most definitely awkward because you are surrounded by people who would hate or love to be in your house depending on their own personal opinions, but reacting to opening your own bid while girls are crying around you is very uncomfortable. There was a girl in my Rho Chi who was a southern legacy to a top OR house and had them until pref, but when they opened their envelope they instead got a very bottom house instead. I am from very far non- South OOS and ended up in an exclusive OR house so all things are definitely awkward you just have to tread lightly

Sisters will be disappointed but they get it. Everyone begins a new day after rush.
