Do I think women are judged unfairly by their appearances? Yes. However...

There's a difference between a girl who uses makeup to enhance her natural features, such as mascara to lengthen her eyelashes, foundation to even out her skin tone, etc. and a girl who uses makeup as a tool to deceive, such as lip injections, overdrawing lipliner, fake eyelashes, etc.

There's a blunt difference between how makeup is used and what the end product looks like. I think the reason why people bring up that makeup is a "bad" thing is because these girls who are "piling" it on are doing so to deceive... These girls look like two completely different people with makeup and without it... And to me, and to a lot of other people, that's alarming. It's fake.

That being said, I think you can do whatever you want. Personally, caking on makeup isn't appealing to me so I'm not going to do it. On the other hand, if that's what you enjoy, then by all means go ahead however DO NOT complain about it.

I'd also like to mention that a lot of these girls who complain about how unfair it is for them to be judged for caking on makeup are the same girls who make fun of other girls' natural looks... Just ironic to me.

Honestly I think a lot of girls that "cake on" makeup are genuinely uncomfortable/embarrassed with how they naturally look and that makes me sad. You should be able to walk across campus with your natural hair, brows, lips, etc without feeling embarrassed. Makeup can totally be a fun way to experiment with how you look but it shouldn't come at the cost of hating who you naturally are. That attitude is so materialistic/shallow and ultimately harmful for you and the people you share it with. Self-hate is not glamorous just because you spent two hours painting your face to cover it up.

I love to wear full makeup because it's fun to put on and looks nice. I also love to not wear makeup to class or anywhere makeup is not needed. Same with my friends. We're comfortable with our natural face. So I think what your saying applies to some but not most.

yall do realize that some girls contour, highlight, fill in their brows, do smokey eyes, and all that because they enjoy it.. people applaud those that wake up in the morning and do their hair or put on a cute outfit every day. It's the same thing. They are talented at make up and want to wear it not because theyre embarrassed of their face but rather because they legit just like having fun with make up.

Sure there are girls with acne and other things that they try to cover up, but for the most part girls who wear make up arent doing it for anyone but themselves. If I like the way I look in jeans better than sweats then I'll wear jeans. The same goes for the girls that love how they look with a full face.

Just stop looking down on people because you assume theyre insecure when really they could be doing perfectly fine, they just spent $40 on a highlighter and dammit theyll wear it to their 8 am if they want to.
