do i have to attend every party?

by: pnm

I'm an OOS PNM but have spent a lot of time talking to my favorite sorority and I know it's the only one I want to join. Well, they just told me that they definitely want me and will give me a bid if I choose them. So I was wondering if I can just go to their parties during rush and not do the other ones. I'm OOS so idk how it works and if I'll get in trouble or something.

Lmao first of all wtf... Okay so what you just explained is dirty rushing. No house should have any contact with you, let alone bid promising you. That's a serious offense and you should report that to Panhellenic. And also, skipping parties looks so bad on your part. It's rude and impolite, just go to every party because you never know what may change... You also don't know whether or not the house that bid promised you will actually follow through, you may show up to rush and they may change their mind. Also, skipping parties jeopardizes your chance of getting a bid. Just follow the rules, stop talking to whatever house you're currently talking to and go to all the parties. Damn.

The ignorance in this post makes me cringe. I really hope this is a troll or something because if not, you don't deserve a bid ANYWHERE with your attitude..

Tons of people get bid promised and it ends up not working out. None of those people thought that it wouldn't! Go in with an open mind and go to every party, or risk being bidless or ending up in a house that you won't fit in!

Can you guys just answer my question? Thanks. All I want to know is if I'll get in trouble.

If you need someone to tell you whether or not you'll get in trouble, maybe college isn't the best decision for you and your intellectual capacity.

yes if you don't go to every round without a valid excuse you get cut from the bidding process. Why didn't you just ask your future sisters that?

Nope! Move forward and wait for your promised bid! You're fine and clearly you belong and will fit in great with your new house. They sound like your kinda girls! LMFAO!

Should you be stupid enough to skip a party, you will be released ( kicked out of) from recruitment, so will not be allowed to pledge any sorority.

Ok, look girl, if you're for real (or if any real girls are lurking) hear me loud and clear. A few girls in a house cannot promise you you'll get in. If they are sophomores, you can sure as hell bet they don't know what they are talking about because they've never been on this side of recruitment. A majority of the house has to want you and rank you high enough on the bid list, if you even make it to pref.

So, get new friends that are smarter and go to all the parties.
