grades while pledging?

by: ?

Are my grades going to be bad while pledging? I'm a guy so it's obviously different than the majority of people on this website, but I was just curious. I'm expecting to have very little time but the fraternities will still care about my academics right?

Look a thing the Greek grade reports, especially if you look at the fall one you can see the new member GPA. If you're a Sig Ep they care, if you're an AKL they obviously don't

It all really comes down to how you balance your time. All frats palace a heavy emphasis on their social events.. However, if all you do is go to your swaps, date parties, and the bars, then obviously your grades will suffer because you're not allowing time to study and get school work done. If you skip class because you're hungover then that places an additional role. But if you're on top of your school work and reward yourself with going out then you should be fine. Work hard play hard.

A good Fraternity will require a certain amount of study hall hours each week with the rest of your pledge brothers. It's generally part of pledgeship. If you don't make the grade, you won't be initiated.

I knew about the requirement but not the study hours. So I'm guessing the only time we have to do school work is during those hours?

If you study during the day instead of sleep, and study some weeknights, you should be good. You would be surprised how many people just can't do this.
