recommendation writers

I know there's been a lot of threads regarding recs so I apologize for making another one, but I have a question about whether it matters who writes your recs? Is it bad/not hold as much weight if you have an alum you don't personally know write it or does it really not matter as long as you have a decent rec or one at all? There's a lot of girls who are finding writers online through alumnae associations so I wanted to know if that'd hurt at all?

The deadline has already passed for some houses and recommendations. I guess late is better than never.

unless the rec is from someone really important I don't really think it matters who writes it as long as the write a good one

in-house alums who you know personally will obviously have more pull over a random alum you've met once who was in XYZ from some random school, but that's better than no recs at all.

The order of preference would be:

1. In house alumna who knows you
2. Alumna who knows you
3. Alumna who doesn't know you personally but is local to you and can check you out
4. Random alumna who you've never met and knows no one who knows you.
