did you pick alabama because of it's greek life?

It was the super nice scholarship they gave me for having great grades and impressive SAT scores. If it weren't for that, I'd be at Texas A&M.

Greek Life has been a nice side effect, though. Let this be a lesson to you kiddies. I'm in a 'hard' major with excellent grades and I can still take part in sorority activities and have a great time. Time management skills are important, but it's totally doable.

I mean, I choose to come here because of the scholarships. Greek life is a nice major plus.

I applied because I wanted a school with a strong Greek system, I attended for the scholarship money and the program I'm majoring in.

I applied here bc of the presidential scholarship, attended here bc of my campus visit, and only rushed because I thought I would struggle socially if I didn't

I came to Alabama because with my scholarship I can graduate debt free. That way, I won't have to worry about paying for grad school (masters are the new bachelors folks)

Unlike the people above, I didn't get a scholarship from UA, my GPA and SAT scores were just under the requirement. However, I'm blessed that my parents can afford OOS tuition for me and when I was looking at schools, I kind of fell in love with Bama. I really wanted to go down South for college and I also wanted a school that was big in sports. And I always knew I wanted to go Greek so whatever school I ended up at needed to have at least some Greek life, but part of my truly did like Bama that much more because of the massive Greek life here.

But to answer the OP, I didn't choose Bama specifically just for the Greek life... As other people said, it's a major plus, but there were definitely more important aspects I was looking for in a college other than that.

It mattered to me. I did not look at any schools that did not have strong greek life. So greek life was necessary for Alabama to be on my visit list but after that I made a choice based on programs, atmosphere and scholarship offers. Bama does good on all those.

I am from the Midwest but not Chicago btw.
