grades?
by: QuestionWhat do you really need? The Panhellenic website seems to indicate that a 3.0 is just fine. But is it really? What if combined with a low SAT?

There is no real answer. Many sororities want much higher but may look the other way if they really want you, but that is very rare. There is nothing you can do at this point so just don't obsess over it. It is what it is. Sororities often use grades to make deep cuts not necessarily because they don't like you but they have to cut so many early on based on return rates etc...it is the easiest and most objective way to make deep cuts.

Hey but if you are super awesome and a house just has to have you, they can look past the gpa. Two years ago agd took a girl (yes, connected) with below a 3 and low 20s on act. But she was a popular girl from a good school and had several friends in house already. It is strange but sometimes the houses with the high gpa can and will take grade risks. They just need to otherwise know all about you and really want you anyway.
