food for thought for pnms: ignore ranks. here's wh

by: Biggest regret

I swear I'm not a troll, but as an active with regrets from my own rush, just wanted to give the PNMs some food for thought:

I paid attention to the ranks. I only wanted a top house and thought I was above some lower ranked ones. Somehow I got in a top house and I now know I made a huge mistake.

I do not fit in my house at all. So I am now a bottom girl in a top house, and that is a lonely place to be. I wish I hadn't been swayed by the ranks, the tent talk and which houses other girls wanted.

So please ignore all of that, and do not pick a house based on gossip, its colors, mascot, the physical house itself, the furniture, whether your great aunt's cousin was in it, and most definitely don't pick based on anything you've read in this anonymous site. Go with your gut. Go with your heart. You only choose once, so choose wisely.

Bumping this to put it ahead of the garbage threads. This is the kind of stuff PNMs need to read.

I'm a senior and I agree. I have had a similar experience...I picked my chapter based on the wrong reasons (tent talk, legacy status, mascot/colors, and they put on a great recruitment).

Recruitment is kind of fake tbh. Just because you love a chapter during recruitment doesn't mean that you'll be the best fit in that chapter. I wish I had looked for less superficial things in choosing my chapter.

My experience is almost over, and it was okay I guess, but I think I could have made lifelong friends if I had been less superficial about my rankings. Who cares if you are in a "top" house if you can't genuinely connect with the girls and become friends?

I often think that I should have made a different decision, especially since my real friends are in a much lower ranked houses than the one I am in.

Anyway, I hope no one else makes the same mistake that I did, but unfortunately I know that there will be girls who do.

You can't have it both ways. She said her house put on a great recruitment, but other threads said PM didn't make them feel welcome, so I doubt her house is PM. Stop slamming them and worry about your own house. Geez, are you the AXO bully?
