axo & agd

why are AXO & AGD such strong chapters at Alabama? I'm only asking because they aren't too great nationally and I definitely struggled finding recs for them. Not trying to throw shade at all.. they obviously are smart, pretty girls.. but just wondering how they are so good? Have they been at bama a long time??

Don't know about why Agd is better at Bama and auburn than outside the state. But they are bottom of old row so they are not all that here tho. In general, it is just the history and whatever

Every Greek organization, regardless of its strength nationally, is going to have amazing and weaker chapters. Your org's national rep isn't going to matter much unless you are determined to be involved as an alum and move somewhere without an alum chapter or something.

AGD is not that great here. Better at Auburn. Terrible nationally.

exactly no sorority is good everywhere. AGD and AXO and PM at UA select strong girls who like to get things done. In the end, that pays off and thus, they are top choices. Girls want to be in a sorority that is strong at their own school and most don't care about nationally. Good try though.

You are trying to infer that others ( hi Theta?) are better nationally and maybe that is true if you took every school and did rank....but at ALABAMA, which is this forum... these are top choices bc they have top girls. Why do they get top girls? Bc they choose girls who are well rounded and they draw in future girls. They seek the highest candidates and they get them. They do not simply look at surface things or girls who do little in high school or don't care about their grades or being productive members on campus.

Another big thing in sorority rankings is support from alums. Both are pretty instate sororities so the alumni are closer by which usually means heavier support.
