invites back?

by: recruitment

Hey so I'm wondering if anyone knows what the average # of invites PNMs get back every round? I know it's technically a max of 16-12-8-3 but about how many houses do most girls get back for philanthropy, sisterhood, and pref? If there isn't an average out there could I get a rough estimate or maybe just how many y'all were asked back each around?

I had a great resume, grades, and recs to most. I was instate but a midsize hometown. I have a hard time warming up to people I don't know, even though most people are surprised I'm an introvert once they know me. This lack of really being able to connect hurt me the most. Im sure I was hard to talk to, bless whoever took me through. I went 16, 12, 5, 2. I was an absolute mess for pref because I was afraid the house I loved would cut me. I would have made it in the other house, and maybe even thrived, but I'm so glad I got my first choice. Like everyone says, it only takes one.

Instate- upperclassmen- 3.9 high school gpa - 3.3 college gpa - good involvement

16-11-5-1. I ended in an middle tier house and was extremely upset. I contemplated dropping rush on pref and throughout my sorority experience I have always felt out of place. even though I'm from Alabama I wasn't crazy about 50% of old row, but there were 3 that I felt I would have been a better match in. On sisterhood round I spoke to a friend from home (in one of those houses) and thogutt I would go XYZ house. To open my card on pref morning to not see it and see a middle tier house that I had liked throughout rush but thought it was bland was hard. People say trust the system but it honestly didn't work out for me.

People who say "trust the system" say that because the system happened to work in their favor. Not all of us are so lucky

People who say Trust The System understand there is a place for everyone if only they will take it.

Taking your place and truly fitting in there are two completely different things. I accepted my bid after not clicking well during rush, but really wanting to give it a shot and three years later I still know I would fit better somewhere else. Doesn't mean I don't give my house my all, but I don't really fit in there. I don't think the system worked in my favor even though I got a bid.

I had a full card but cuts after IWT were old row where I didn't have rec letters

Northern OOS with good grades. Did get to pref with two OR and one NR.

Went NR and love it.

Would say get your recs in to maximize your options. Girls on my floor that "just showed up" with no recs, had the deepest cuts in early rounds.

ladies, keep in mind that you only get ONE bid on bid day! As tough as cuts can be (trust me, we've all been there), appreciate the small blessings in life, and realize you're just one step closer to being in your home. And please do NOT complain about what chapters asked you back, because you never know if someone standing next to you got cut from that house and is feeling hurt. It costs $0.00 to be kind!

Just scared to death! Thanks for sharing your experiences but I would be thrilled to have any house! Yikes!

Honestly, that's the best attitude to have.

I'm OOS north, 3.5 gpa, decent resume, and average pretty. Only had one rec, and was cut from that house the first round. I was also cut from every old row house. My schedule was 16-6-6-3. I was really disappointed after IWT's, but very happy with the house I pledged.

I'm from the Midwest, had a 3.9, pretty good involvement, at least one rec per house, some more than others, I'm pretty but not a supermodel or anything. I think of myself as a pretty bubbly person and I even had an active tell me that at one point. But, I didn't have any connections aside from one OR legacy, which doesn't guarantee anything. I went 16-10-7-3. I preffed with what is generally known as a top house, an upper middle house, and a bottom house. Tiers don't matter, my point is I had a wide range, and I didn't necessarily love the highest ranked house the most at pref.
