Greek Chic gives examples of the type of shoe to wear each day, but are open toed heels okay for Pref day?

Yes. You're only going to a max of 3 parties, so wear more formal footwear - heels, anything that's dressy.

Yes open toed are fine, those are what I wore for my pref. However, make sure you can comfortable walk in them!!! All of the houses have extremely slippery, newly waxed floors. Slipping and falling is very easy to do in shoes that don't have good soles.
