actives: weirdest thing a pnm has said during rush

Mine wasn't something she said, but what she didn't say. Which was everything. She said nothing. The whole round.
I know girls do that in houses they want to drop, but we're a pretty desirable house so it was perplexing. She didn't look like a weirdo or anything. She was a generally pretty girl with good fashion sense. It's possible she was being forced to rush by her parents or something and just genuinely did not want to be in a sorority at all.
Another one kept trying to ask me about fraternities/parties/boys. I kept trying to dodge the questions and redirect but she was not getting the hint. It was so uncomfortable. She ended up joining because she had mad connections and like a 4.0. Luckily she turned out to be a completely lovely girl and a wonderful sister but damn her rush social skills were not good.

Ok so I've never done recruitment from the other side before but last year there was a girl I was paired with during IWTs who literally refused to make conversation with me and it is, still, the weirdest experience of my life. She'd ask me a question, I would ask her "what about you?" to try to bounce off of that, and she would just STARE at me and ask another question from her internal laundry list. I felt like I was being interrogated - and everything she asked was info I KNOW the house already knew.
I have never tried more desperately - and failed more miserably - to make conversation. To this day I can't figure out if she was disinterested because they'd already decided they didn't want me, or if it was one of her first times talking to PNMs in the room and she didn't want to talk about herself when the point was to get to know me.

I felt so bad for this girl. She was really pretty but could tell she was shy and awkward.
I swear the second thing out of her mouth was "do you have a tampon or pad or ANYTHING???" I felt so bad for her because we have all been there but come on!! I know of girls who thought thay might "start" and used double protection JUST IN CASE

One young pnm wanted to know how to join another house if she "didn't feel right" after accepting our bid. She mentioned this during second round party. Guess who wasn't invited to our third round?
The weirdest utterance came from a gal who accepted our bid, then later asked if it would be alright for her to go thru the colonization interviews of our new group on campus. This was before she'd even broached the subject of leaving our home. Really, honey, go ahead, and if they don't like you there will always be an open spot for you right here NOT.
I guess it comes with the territory of having super-large pnm classes, some people think there is a better choice for them right down the row.

Just curious, what was his profession?
On a similar note, this one girl wouldn't stop talking about how her "Mommy used to be in the Peace Corps" every time we brought up anything travel or nursing related (we're both pre-nursing majors). Ugh.
