useful rank

by: Senior

Reposting this from Summer Ranks post (it was comment 3)because of consensus that it "nails it".

No order in tiers:

Old Row Tier 1: AXO, PM, XO, KKG
Old Row Tier 2: AGD, DDD, KD

New Row Tier 1: PBP, ZTA, ADPi
New Row Tier 2: DG, APhi
New Row Tier 3: AOII, DZ, GPhi, KAT

For Upper Midwest (like Chicago, Minnesota), Western (WA, CO, CA) and Northeastern PNMs, New Row Tier 1 may be comparable or even preferable to Old Row Tier 2.

After all the new houses are built (PBP, AOPi, and DZ) I think AOPi DZ and DG will be on same same level, holding up middle tier NR. Theta and Gphi will continue to be bottom for a while. Theta because of pledge classes and gphi because of drama between girls and poor grades and involvement. Theta could move up easily if their alumni chip in and get them a better house. I hate to be materialistic like that but its hard to not be bottom when you have the oldest and smallest house on the row.

I used to think this but I'm honestly not sure now, I think the damage might be done for dz and maybe aopi for now, certainly theta. I think the house gave gphi more of a leg up than anyone anticipated. If they keep slave driving their girls to be more involved like they have been recently they may stay above at least theta and dz. The grades thing is the obvious shortfall.

Theta I hate to even defend against this because I know Thetas love their current house, but national is prepared to build a new house and have had plans for several years.Theta agreed to be in the last wave of houses being built when the sorority row modernization plan came out years ago. Who knows why...maybe because you are right in saying materialization a shallow value or maybe they wanted the newest house when all building is complete.Their turn to build their new house is coming up after current houses under construction are complete.

I thought they were odd in rush and dropped them BUT they aren't odd in real life I have tons of friends there and they are cute and fun. They are no way at the bottom. Quit ranking people as "bottom". It is hurtful.

I am OR btw and not really familiar with some of the others except for at IWT. But I can tell you they are pretty much all nice and if you pledge aopi you will be proud of your sisters, as will you at almost any if you choose to go where your personality fits best.

Back off mean rankers.

Seems like there are two objective ways to rank: selectivity and grades. Everything else is subjective. Is there a selectivity rank based on return rates from last year?

This is the ONE and only definitive, fail safe rank for Recruitment 2017.

Pretty accurate rank, my only disagreement is AGD and KD are ranked too high. I'd rather be in any of the New Row Tier 1 than I would AGD or KD. (Reference the Mean Girl thread.)
