rushing a fraternity
by: rolltideHey was just wondering if i will have any trouble getting into a frat. I'm from the north (Philadelphia, PA) but definitly prefer the south and southern people. Was just curious as to which fraternitys wouldnt mind or if i should just vote out rushing. ROLL TIDE!

Joe Namath was from PA. Come on down!! DKE, SAE will be tough. KA(no yankees)is out. Now you have a slew of good,strong houses to choose from. Depends where you fit. EX,OX are good, strong fraternities. Phi Gam is good. Pike,Pi Kapp,DX,Beta are all decent. See where you fit. If you are not a guido(if you prefer the south and southern people, so do we)you are going to love the south. Rush hard and Roll Tide!!!

There are a lot more northern guys than you would think in good fraternities. When you meet people at rush parties they won't judge you on where you are from as long as you are cool. so just be yourself and don't worry about it. But if you want to get a bid to one of the really good fraternities you should try to make it down for spring and summer rush parties

Exactly, don't pay attention to the tier rankings on here because everyone is downgrading everyone else. Old Row houses may be a tough one to crack for you, such as KA and DKE, but I think you should be fine. Being in an affiliated house is what really matters down here. Be sure to be down here from January to April, April being the MOST important as all of the rushees usually find out which houses they get bids from. Have a hell of a time at rush man, it's the most fun you will have before high school ends.

He was referring to the tier posting with ATO and Phi Gam in the top 4. If you read the amendments of the lists you can usually get an idea of the real order (and Aside from Occasionally ATO, no one ever bothers to rank the unaffiliated houses).

Read son of Frank listing for pretty close ranking or Frank listing for 5 year old listing which still holds some validity

of Frank is one of the better lists, it's more or less the right gist, top 10 are all correct and about everyone is at or within one or two places of the right place (except maybe ATO and Phi Delt).
