other sororities

by: pnm

For reference w/out giving too much info: I am an OOS pnm with a high GPA and involvement but definitely not as pretty as most girls at UA at least judging by the recruitment videos. I also don't have many connections so I know my chances at old row are slim... I honestly do not care. However, I feel like new row sororities like AOPi/Theta/DZ/DG are never mentioned here and I'm curious to know what distinguishes them. They're always lumped together as being "bottom tier" without any elaboration but I can see myself ending up in these houses and being happy there. TL;DR can someone please give me more info on these less-talked-about chapters?

aren't talked about because they're the ones that are on here throwing all the hate to discourage you going old row or any of the top new row houses like zeta.

We all know who you are now you should really concentrate on improving your house instead of piling on hate at others not the kind of sisterhood I'd want to be a part of just sad and pathetic

i was OOS with a great/high GPA, went to a boarding school, and had lots of involvement that lasted throughout high school (meaning i was committed to things throughout 4 years rather than jumping around w/ involvement). i was a legacy at two houses (one mom, one maternal aunt), and had a rec from the former international president at another house, and got called back to four houses the second round. i still don't have a clue as to why i was cut from so many so quickly, because i was dressed well and have been told multiple times how put together i am in appearance and in conversation. i was a perfect recruit on paper, but obviously not in person.

tl;dr you never know what's going to happen during recruitment.

^^^Your legacy status may have provided the non-legacy chapters a reason to cut you, especially the homes that are required to cut the most pnms right away (because they are popular). It does happen where a legacy shows some kind of positive bias toward desiring her legacy groups, and in a very competitive recruitment like ours any house looking for a reason to cut will use that one. PNMs, don't play your legacy status too hard or you may be cut just as hard as the poster above.
