Here it goes:
AXO: the one thing that they do that keeps them top on many lists, is that they tend to make all pnms feel welcome. Even if there isn't a chance. And they get the smartest of the connected Bama girls.
XO and KD: attract and want the same type of girls as AXO gets (Bama/southern, smart, charming) but are less interested in pretending you have a chance.
KKG: Focused on wealth and particularly country club, Mom's a volunteer and community fund raiser,
Brooks Brother kind of wealth. As a result, have more OOS (and northern OOS) than the above houses. And, although less socioeconomically diverse than the above, do end up with a broader range of "types" with respect to party habits, looks, OOS and grades.
DDD: Kind of an acceptable fall back for the girls who may not have gotten their favorite above.
Phi Mu: Compared to KKG want the more "obvious" wealth (or at least the appearance of such), pageant types with Moms that wear big diamonds and drive Eacalaes. . As a result focused on looks and draws more TX and FL girls.

ZTA: Looks focused but a different vibe than Phi Mu. Hard to pin down, but their members seem to be a bit more independent minded. Attractive and doing their own thing thing, Bama girls breaking from HS ties, OOS - particularly Northeast, CO and CA, and Crimsonettes. Have a party rep, but seem to have a wide range of girls
PiPhi: A draw for OOS girls who want the old row sorority type of experience (of AXO, XO and KD) but didn't arrive with connections or the resum to get into KKG or PhiMU. DDD for OOS.
APhi: Looks and party/fun focused.
ADPi and DG: Compete for the best of the rest - particularly girls that want that "sorority life centered" experience.
AGD: Gets the Christian girls.
GPhi, DZ, AOP and KAT: Great houses full of fun and interesting girls.

from a "northern" school and am wondering why it's a bad thing here to be "party/fun focused"? the "top" sororities at my school are known for having fun and going out. but we also do charity work and have a great sisterhood. why can't you have both?

The OP isn't going to like that. I had her figured for a DG because of they ultra high ranking.

I think OP used diplomacy but it wasn't quite as "nice" as the earlier idiots posted. If you read between the lines it's got some less than positive references. Oh well...who cares?

How nice to see an opinion about sororities highlighting positive and not negative for a change. Take note fellow Greeks this is the way it should be to show we are not all petty, jealous, and immature!
