old south dresses

There are shops that specialize in antebellum dresses (you can Google them) and many have inherited or borrowed them from others who have inherited the dresses. The girls that KA invite to Old South are going to be the types of Southern girls who have family ties and connections to be able to acquire these dresses. That's part of what makes the party so exclusive.

Anyone can rent them. Not exclusive. They are costumes, not historically authentic, but fun to wear, and none of them date back to the mid 1800's for gods sake. Sorority sisters sometimes have bought them or had them made - there are lots of patterns out there. They pass them around, borrowing from each other. A dress for old south is a one hit wonder; you're not going to wear it but once.
