my little deactivated

Because of financial aid issues. I was really excited to have her and made big little week amazing for her, but she couldn't afford to stay. She can't even join another sorority because she initiated. I guess members were not transparent with her during recruitment.
Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone in my sorority keeps saying that I can get a new little. But no one can replace her you know? And of course I can be her friend outside of Greek life.
Still, I can't help but feel a little sad. My pledge mom deactivated and didn't seem interested in our sorority anymore, and I was really excited to be the opposite for her.

I'm sorry financial stuff sucks and it's not fair that members can't join a community because of costs but I understand how you feel because you wanted to help her in any way you can. Unfortunately we can't help everyone but it is worth mentioning that you made her happy for even a short time. But to answer your question yes people deactivate all the time for whatever reason you aren't the only one to see a friend leave
On the bright side you can maintain your relationship and you can consider her to be your little even outside of sorority life
