how many in a fraternity pledge class?

It depends on the fraternity. From as low as ten to as high as 60. Old Row houses tend to take in about 20 guys every year. New Row houses tend to take in a lot more. I know Pike took in like 40 kids and Delta Sig gave bids to like 60.

How in the world you swaps work work if the ratio is 20-60 to 150 girls?

Keep in mind not all the girls go to swaps. Usually if a sorority is going to swap with a smaller fraternity they'll allow older fraternity actives to join the party just to help with the numbers. Or every once in a while they'll put on a "monster/super" swap where two fraternities and two sororities are invited.
