SDT isn't afraid of closing poor-performing chapters. Last year they shut down the chapter at USC (California) -- like Bama, housed but didn't do formal in a competitive system -- and the chapter at the University of Pittsburgh, which was at about half of total (100) at a non-competitive campus without houses. The Bama and Texas chapters should probably take that as a warning.

Sigma kappa i can see but honestly tri sig just colonized at auburn. I know it'd be a few years before any movement happens here but that seems like an aggressive succession!! Good for them though. They're definitely one of those smaller npc chapters that's Appears to be trying the most with growth (or at least being the most successful).

If any sorority was going to be added next fall, it would be all over their social media, not from someone's super secret source. Don't you think it would be a huge deal to join the Alabama greek community that they would want to publicize? It's a long, formal process, starting with coming on campus to make a presentation to Panhellenic. Plus, they would have events scheduled this spring to introduce themselves to potential upperclass members. They don't just show up one day next fall and be a colony.

thats what they're saying. That these chapters are just observing recruitment. Nothing is happening obviously.
Bama wouldn't want to make a big public display about being open for extension and then have no one interested. They're going to be careful and make sure one of the groups left have the resources before opening up. What's the point of opening up if no one comes calling?? That'd just be embarrassing.

Funny that everyone is screaming for more chapters and if and when they do come, they'll likely be bashed on this site for having a weak pledge class or as ya'll like to say the "leftovers". Maybe if we collectively spoke well of every house we'd stand a better chance of further growing our Greek community. Just food for thought!
