recs question

by: Soph

I plan on rushing as a sophomore and I have started my social resume. I put my high school academic information on there as long with my new college academic information (GPA, ACT, SAT, etc..). When I send it out for recs I plan on just including my college transcript, should I include high school transcript also?... I ask bc the person writing my rec will send UA anything that I send them and UA was only asking for my college transcript. Any tips to go about this?

I sent them my college information and more information about me in a cover letter. In my social resume, I included my college information and HS information (SAT, major, clubs, volunteer work, GPA, etc.). I did not send my transcripts to anyone because Panhel gives that info out to sororities. I had 4x6 head shots made in a hairstyle I would probably wear for first rounds. I also had those head shots in pdf format ready to email for those women who needed to attach to electronic forms for their nationals. I included a stamped envelope addressed to the Alabama chapter (make sure you weigh what your envelope would be with a head shot and about 4 papers inside so you get the correct postage). I included a handwritten thank you card to whomever was writing my rec. I sent this "packet" in a large manila envelope (again, make sure you have the correct postage) to the person writing my rec. I started with women either I knew or my parents knew. I checked off my list which sororities I was getting a rec from those women. Then I started contacting my local alumna organizations(either they had a website or a facebook site). Sometimes it took multiple emails or facebook messages to get someone. Many times I met these women for Starbucks to hand deliver my packet and for them to get to know me. Again, I kept track of who I was giving my recs to and who I still needed to get. It took several hours over the course of 5 months to get them all in, but I did it. Good luck!

Did the alumnae writing your recs not ask to see your high school transcripts? Like they were fine with you filling that stuff in on your resume?
