when do bids for cob's go out?

by: COB

A lot of cob meals were this week and I was wondering how long it takes for the sorority to contact you about whether or not you got a bid. Also will they even bother letting you know if you didn't get one?

I went to one COB event last January. I didn't get a call or email after and I thought I did fairly well. I was a bit bummed when I also didn't get a spring tea invite (I was invited to three other spring teas). At formal recruitment this year, I had an almost full schedule in all the "tiers" as a sophomore (3.5 gpa, volunteered, good recs). The one house that COB'd me last year was super interested in me even though I wasn't feeling it. I kept dropping them, they kept showing up on my schedule, even through prefs. I tried giving them a fair shake through the week and I met some really nice girls, but I was just kind of over it after the spring COB deal. I'm not going to lie - my feelings were hurt and they had their chance to have me. It's not the end of the world and you should go through formal recruitment next year. I'm in a house that I am very involved with and I have awesome sisters. Good luck.

It was DZ. Again, nothing against them. I met some really great girls. They had many girls at their event last year and they only had so many spots. I get it. But, it still hurt my feelings and I felt other houses much more this past fall. But, an email or phone call or even an invite to their tea would have gone a long way.
