Every Greek organization here has their own philanthropic organization they are paired with. Each chapter does not get to choose what philanthropic organization they support though, it has been chosen by their nationals a long time ago... Meaning that if a sorority here at Bama supports, let's say for example, the make a wish foundation then every chapter of that sorority at all the other schools is also paired with that organization. I've noticed most of the organizations fraternities and sororities are involved in relate to children and their wellbeing. Basically, throughout the year every sorority and fraternity will hold different events that benefit their philanthropy. Some kind of events include trunk shows, competitions, parties, dinners, etc. Since the chapters here at Bama are so large, the typical chapter raises at least a few tens of thousands of dollars every year.
