old money

I have wondered onto this site and have found it awful on many levels.

But a word of caution to all those who believe they know about "old money" - a term over used and abused here.

The golden rule is BE GRACIOUS IF IT KILLS YOU! A hard feat, but "old money" provides the security that makes this trait a distinguishing characteristic. To all those who use the term, but are anything but gracious, be aware you are seen ( and
treated) as the clueless faker you truly are.

Old money is both where you would and wouldn't suspect it - I can guarantee you that!

Many here just make fools of themselves - ranking, bragging, faking, insulting, and acting like someone they are not. The hatred and insults on here are unbelievably mean spirited and distasteful. Please don't associate such with good taste, good upbringing, and good manners. Such hatred should also not be associated with Alabama nor the south.

Greek life at Bama is a great thing.

I fear many posts are from outsiders, troublemakers, a few awful alumni and a few truly disturbed and angry individuals. We can only pray that they find guidance and help.

In reality, this is a warm, welcoming and wonderful place.
