old row really that bad?

Is old row really that bad? I'm gonna rush here next year and the older guys I know all went old row and they were cool guys in high school. I'm confused if it's just people hating on them or if they actually are just weird. Thanks!

This isn't the place to ask for advice about anything. Most of the people responding on this board are moms that are pushing a New Row agenda to improve the rank of their (or their daughter's) house.

Basically if you can get a bid from Old Row, go Old Row

I don't get the go old row if you can logic.

If you relate to the girls in an old row, fine.

But their superiority isn't a given. Some (houses) aren't that attractive, some don't have great grades, some have a parTy reputation, some are dull, etc.

I'm not saying they are "awful" across the board either.

Go where you like.

Neither one is best for everyone. If you are first family Alabama with a long line of old row alumni in your line, old row may be best for you. If you're from oos or less entrenched, new row may be best.

But the bottom line is that, like all our houses, one is not really better for everyone. You need to pick the house you connect with and not worry about old/new row nonsense.
