2 houses
by: defeatedI only got invited back to 2 houses, my least favorite for this round. I'm feeling so defeated. Can someone please give me some words of encouragement?

I am sorry you are disappointed with the two houses you were invited back to, but have faith. They wanted to see you again, and this round might be the round where they really impress you. Go in with an open mind and an open heart. These houses are currently your best chance at Greek life, so keep going. Give these two chapters all the opportunities you can to win you over. If after pref parties you still could not see yourself a member in either of the two, don't sign your bid card. Get involved with one or two campus orgs, get good grades and try next year.

Don't feel defeated. There are girls in every single house and horrid girls in every single house. You will find girls that you love. Go in with a positive attitude and you may be surprised! Sorority life is not the "be all end all". It is just one aspect of college life. There will be so many things to do in your 4 years. Finish rush and if you decide not to join, you can look at all the sororities again. Recruitment is a very harsh and stilted process. It's not you, it's the process. Hang in there and be open to making new friends who appreciate you!

Houses have 300-400 members. You get to talk to maybe, MAYBE 15 during rush. If you don't click with these girls it's okay - but remember that with some many different people you will click with some of them, you just might not know it yet! There are so many girls rerushing this year because they were in your position last year, dropped, and still want to be greek one year later. Don't miss out on a chance to be greek because of other people's opinions! I promise you once rush is over NO ONE in the real world will think of you any differently just because of your letters. Girls are LUCKY to get bids this year because return rates are so high that everyone is making heavy cuts and girls are getting released. Hold your head up high and I promise you in a few weeks it will all click and be so worth it. Bid day is the BEST, and you might feel out of place at first but so do other girls. Y'all will find each other and be so thankful you are participating in greek life.

First think about why you're going through recruitment. If it's just to find a sisterhood then odds are you'll find it in whichever of those houses you end up in. With so many girls in each chapter you're bound to find your people. You just have to focus your time and energy on those two chapters so you're bound to rock those parties. I also want you to think about this. You're more likely to regret the things you don't do, then the things you do. It won't hurt you to finish the process and give one of those chapters a shot and you may just discover it was what was meant to happen the whole time. If you don't try, you'll never know what could have been.

And those two are better than half the houses at other Greek systems. If you get into any house you are set.
