Honestly, I think DG is way better than some people give them credit for. The ones I've met have been really laid back and smart and kind. Also a lot of the ones I've met have a really good sense of humor and are really dedicated to their philanthropy. I've had lunch there a couple times and from what I saw the sisters get along pretty well. I'm not a DG, but I think they're a wonderful house. Give them a chance for sure and good luck!

So technically the date recognized by UA in on campus in 1948 and we are in very much tradition here at UA, on the third floor are all of the old composites from 1948-1978, so do not be fooled we have tradition on this campus and deeper roots than when Alpha Phi came along. They were sort of in the same predicament as us when they first recolonized, but Delta Gamma came in two years later to hush the newness of Alpha Phi up, so it threw it back on us! Which is fine, were are stronger than ever and love everyone. Alpha Phi is a great sorority, I am just saying we came innate the right time for the whole newness thing. ZTA, DG, and ADPi should also be old row since they once were, but none of us can he sponsored by alcoholic companies, which is what OLD ROW is sponsored by. So we all got invited back to join old row, but our nationals would simply not let us. Although, honestly that doesn't matter. DG is involved in all of the right things whether you nd uo old or new row, trust me you'll get a feel for it and know. I was just stating a few facts to set the record straight.

NOW PNM's GO OUT AND HAVE FUN WITH IT, PUT YOUR FIRST FOOT FORWARD, NEVER DOWN TALK ANYHOUSES (WHO NEVER KNOW WHI IS LISTENING AND MIGHT TELL, THESE GIRLS HAVE A NAME CALLED IN HOUSE LEGACIES." SURE, IT IS 'ILLEGAL' TO TALK TO A MEMBER INSIDE OF THE HOUSE, BUT SAY IN THE IN HOUSE LEGACY CALLS HER MOM AND THE MOM CALLS THE SISTER IN THE HOUSE AND WHAT YOU SAID BAD ABOUT THE SORORITY IS PINNED TO YOU AND....

AND NOW THE HOUSE KNOWS WHAT YOU SAID BECAUSE THE IN HOUSE SISTER FOUND OUT, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY IT IS A DOG EAT WORL, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TEETERING A 3.0 IT IS GOING TO BE VERY COMPETITIVE. SO ALWAYS BE HAPPY WHERE YOU ARE, NO MATTER IF YOU LIKE THE HOUSE OR NOT YOU WERE BLESSES TO GET AN INVITE, DO NOT WASTE IT. YOU ARE NEVER SAFE AFTER EACH ROUBD, A NEW ONE BEGINS SO YOU ALWAYS KEEO YOUR MOUTH TO YOURSELF, ACT HAPPY TO BE THERE, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN WITH IT! ALTHOUGH I RECOMMEND NOT TELLING ANYONE YOUR TOP THREE HOUSES, AGAIN TOO MANY IN HOUSE LEGACIES. I HOPE THIS HELPED, NUT JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT LADIES! BEING GREEK AT UA IS NOT OTHER, AND YES I EVEN LIVED IN OUR HOUSE ONE YEAR AND I DO NOT REGRET IT! IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS.... ANYONE! FEEL FREE TO ASK!

Holy. Cow. Greekchat biddy, you are NOT helping your chapter AT ALL. Look, I like DG too, but you are getting way psychotic about it (and yes, you use pretty much the same language on GC so I can tell exactly who you are).

Don't you remember the furor that AOPi got in last year when their advisor went off the deep end? Please do less. Don't hurt your sorority by coming off as unhinged.

They are new to campus, have nice house, low gpa, and they have some cute girls. They seem to slam other sororities a lot which isn't cool.

They are one of the less "Southern" houses, but are good all around. If you click with the members there, they may be perfect for you (even if you are Southern).

DG has been going up and is at about a 3.4 house GPA now (so middle of the group not low). Theta, ADPi, PiPhi, and AOPi for new row have higher GPAs, if it matters to you. DZ, GPhi, APhi, Zeta are lower new row GPAs.

Rank the houses where you feel most at home higher, don't use GPA to decide.

They aren't the best and aren't the worst overall. They stay out of the limelight, which doesn't sound like a good thing, but on a campus where Greeks are scrutinized for sneezing in the wrong direction, that's actually a good thing about their sisterhood. It means they can keep their girls in check. People say that about us too and it doesn't really hurt me. I'd say ADPi is the same way and and despite popular belief, DZ.
it depends on what you want out of your sorority. Do you want to be a pet of girls that look out more for each other or the sorority that has constant buzz about them? Those aren't exclusive either.

They're probably the most drama-free "nice" girls you could find. They're new, but definitely doing well for themselves. They're always really good with philanthropy, like top 3. Decent GPA, they're strong in Mississippi and Florida, lots of alum involvement, stay out of the gossip. Only big downside I could think of is that they do get fined a lot. Maybe that's how they have such good involvement. But if that's not a concern for you, then you should definitely take a close look at them!

If you do not mind me asking, what do you mean they get fined a lot more and why?

just meaning that instead of having a "point system" like some sororities, you can get fined for missing certain required events. my roomie last year was a dg and they seemed to be really understanding about not fining her for missing bc of work or other excuses
