by: pnmThe talk of there being so many girls rushing and needing a certain GPA and blah blah blah has given me so much anxiety. Do a lot of girls actually get dropped completely? What are some reasons girls get dropped out of rush?

Are you sure the blacklisted PNM is actually planning on going to Alabama? Is she registered for rush? Or does someone need a heads up that just graduated from a private high school in Alabama?

That helps a lot! What would y'all consider low grades? I know on the panhelleninc website it says over 3.0 and you shouldn't have to worry too much, but I've been hearing people say 3.2 and even 3.5? What would you say is the minimum before houses start dropping you for grades?

It's that time of year....the rumors start to go 'round...ChiO only takes a 3.8 or above, AXO only takes 3.9 or above, APhi doesn't care about grades, only if you're hot...and it's all total garbage.
HOWEVER...
If you have under a 3.0, you had better have something else going for you, like an ultra-strong legacy status, or a statewide beauty title, or a MacArthur genius grant...
If you have a 3.2 or under, yes you'll get released by a lot of houses but hang in there, you'll probably pledge if you're not a total drip.
If you have a 3.5 or under, only a few houses will put you on their second list because of that.
If you have a 3.9 or above, the gates of heaven are wide open for you.

As of today, a little more than 2800. It's pretty slow now because most signed up to avoid the big jump in the fee.

New member classes will get as large as they need to be to place the most women. "Quota" (which is kind of a loose term under RFM) is not set until AFTER pref parties are over, so anybody who drops out is out of the picture by the time they set quota. Plus there are quota additions and snap bids.

you are right on target expect i would add on to ranking houses... if you honestly and truly feel best in "top tier" then go for it. I think you should rank your heart all the way. PREF most def :). Also I know of a PNM from a well known Alabama private school who has been blacklisted from what she has said to sisters and alums. But grades, rep and proper ranking. DO NOT EVER LEAVE A SLOT BLANK.
