do sororities check your financial background?

I've heard that sororities look up your address and other stuff to find out if you're wealthy or not... Is this true?

Yes. Dues here are much more expensive than most other schools. If you're from Alabama, we'll know how wealthy/what neighborhood you're from by your high school, but if you're OOS, consider it somewhat standard practice to Zillow you up. We're not looking for "rich" but rather, "does it look like she can afford $8000-$10,000 a year on top of $30,000 in OOS tuition on top of $3,000-$5,000 in dorms."
