new house dues
by: PnmWith all the new houses will dues increase? Will houses like zta and pm have dues higher than alpha chi? Is there any sort of limit to what they can charge?

Yes, dues typically go up once a house knows it's going to rebuild and then they go down once the house is paid down/off. I'm not in any of the houses that are building now, but I can't imagine why their dues would be higher than any other house that's built in the last few years (DG, KD, etc). You'll get the dues info during rush but I don't think there is more than a $500/yr difference between the highest and lowest live-out dues and maybe a $2000/yr max between the highest and lowest live-in dues.
No, there's not really a limit to what houses can charge but since all the rebuilds are similar size/quality, the dues should all be in the same general ballpark for new/newer houses.

I was in one of the "older" houses and my dues were roughly 6K a year before t-shirts ($20-$25 a piece) and added fees for random things.
keep in mind a lot of the figures they throw at you are by the semester....some of the new houses are roughly 10k out of house and 12k-14k in house. Sad that a sorority costs more these days then your tuition.

my dues were 3300 first semester and 2800 second semester. I bought around 15 t-shirts ($20 each) all year and around 30 zaps ($4 each) so you do the math if you really want to know an answer. Plus swap costume stuff if you want to do any of that. I will also say that my house has already been rebuilt a few years ago.

Mmmm I think there's more than a $500 difference between the most expensive and least. I know my house is $3,000 while Alpha Chi is close to $5,000.
