rushing as a sophomore

Most sororities will consider your GPA and your extra curricular so if you have a 2.8 and the cut off is 3.0 but you also have a ton of community service and extra curricular stuff then you'll most likely not be cut for GPA, but it also depends on the house! Some houses have it written in their bylaws and leave it up to nationals. I know ADPI is really strict on cutting for gpa because they cut a bunch of girls last year even though they were legacies. Don't worry though! Everyone ends up where they belong and where they are meant to be. As long as you don't have a crazy low GPA, you'll be fine.
Once you are in a sorority though they take it very seriously.

Have you looked at Greek chic at all? The average PNM has a 3.65, so yah, the GPA thing is pretty serious. Some sororities get on social probation by their nationals if they don't maintain a certain GPA as a chapter, so with more girls going through every year, it's an easy way to cut people.
