oos recruitment question

by: Bama

I am an OOS freshman attending UA this fall. I am a double legacy to two nationally top houses but no idea hat they are like there. I came on here to try to get a little sense of what recruitment is like at UA.
A few questions--what is "old row" and "new row"? What houses are on each and where in relation to campus are they?
Where do I go to register for recruitment or get more info besides here? Thanks for your help.
(BTW-3.7gpa, Pom squad, girls golf, stuco, Sr. class VP, hoco court--any of that considered by houses?)

I promise I am not a troll. I never said those were my accomplishment-just asked if any of those are things considered by sororities. I do have activities and honors, maybe not those exact ones but similar. I'm not that dumb! Just trying to get a sense of recruitment at Bama.

new row and old row are both on the same row, theres no difference of location. don't pay attention to the obvious trolls that about to follow because you brought it up.
old row is- alpha chi omega, alpha gamma delta, chi omega, delta delta delta, kappa delta, kappa kappa gamma, and phi mu
new row is- alpha delta pi, alpha phi, alpha omicron pi, delta gamma, delta zeta, kappa alpha theta, gamma phi beta, pi beta phi, and zeta tau alpha

yes all those things are considered but really you'll only be cut for grades and those things aren't enough to carry you through every house, conversation and connection are the most important. As for being a legacy, it helps but its not everything and usually only grandmothers, mothers, and sisters count.

Recruitment is intense but the system works. Get your recommendations and go in with an open mind because thats the only way to be successful.

Panhellenic's website is a far better resource than this site and you register online there.

Good luck!

Thank you active! I appreciate the info! I have 20 family members - grandmother, mother, sister, cousins and aunts who are actives/alums in phi mu, theta, chi o, kappa, pi phi, dg & alpha phi at several different universities but only an actual legacy to 2 of those.
I know absolutely no one in any of the houses and have only been to Alabama once so I am a bit nervous!

Hey op, having cousins and aunts won't help you here because there are too many girls going through recruitment. They can still write you recs though. Here houses only follow their legacy rules for granddaughters, daughters, and sisters of members. Also, be prepared for heavy cuts the second invitational round of recruitment because that's when a lot of legacy girls get cut
