question from a non bama greek
by: InquirySo since y'all seem to have a lot of race issues I have a question. Are the minorities who rush Panhellenic subjected to the same standards as the white girls? Like needing to have Rec letters etc. Or is all this integration an affirmative action type of deal? And before you accuse me of racism I'm a minority myself.

I disagree that UA has "a lot of race issues." We are excited about the diversity on campus and also the growing diversity in sororities. The minorities who "rush Panhellenic" are subject to the same standards as white girls, including rec letters, etc. It is not an affirmative action type of deal at all.

This post is a smack in the face and undermines any Panhellenic Sorority Member of Color and her accomplishments. Sorority Women of Color at Alabama are a movement. A movement for equality and education, and I movement I am proud to stand behind with all of my sisters. Any woman receiving a bid is a woman deserving of that bid, regardless of her race.
