spring teas for pnms

by: OOS PNM

I'm OOS and coming to spring teas. This may be a silly question, but do you just walk up to the house and knock or are the doors open and you just go in? I'm going by myself and just need to know kind of what to expect. Is my name on a list or do I need to bring my invitation to get in? The teas last hours; how long is proper etiquette to stay before you go to another tea? What all goes on? If things go great with a house will that put me on their radar for the fall? I'm so excited to be there in 2 weeks!

I live in TN and am coming too. No one is Greek in my family so I'm nervous and excited about the teas and what to expect. What are the actives looking for in us?

You shouldn't be nervous! Every house does it slightly differently, but they will all have the doors open. There will be girls either at the door to lead you in or someone just inside. You'll then be paired with a girl who will take you over to a table or somewhere to stand where you'll be given snacks and drinks. You can stay for as long or as little as you like, sororities know you have other parties to go to! Although I wouldn't stay for more then an hour. I know my house is going through girls who came and saying who our favorites were. It's nothing to be worried about though. Honestly, spring teas is more for the houses to get on your radar then the other way around.

So if a party is say 3-5 is it okay to show up any time between then if you have other parties around the same time?

No worries. We all know you have several places to get to and some parties overlap.

let me echo that advice above that you should not stay at any party too long and an hour is the max. just stay until you sort of naturally hit an exit point, then get out. Don't double back and linger too long.
