Which houses are on the rise?
by: YuhAny houses that are fairly easy to join, but are set to rise in the ranks over the next few years? For example, any mid tiers that’ll probably be upper mid or even upper tier by the time I’m a senior?

I’m in a mid house so take it for what it’s worth but I’ll break it down. I’m not going to include Chi Psi, Lambda, DX, as they are upper mid
There are ab 4 “mid houses” that are solid IMO.
Pike: While they’re falling and sus, they have very strong nationals so they’ll always be mid at worst. Weakest out of these 4.
Pikapp: Def took a hit by only taking one kid in the fall, but if you’re looking for a house that likes to throw parties where everyone gets hammered and rowdy, that’s the place for u. It’s not a very preppy vibe, it’s more of a blue collar close brotherhood. A perfect way to describe is like delta in animal house
ZBT: Lots of money which definitely helps with social schedule/events. They did a bar tab w a C4 which was kinda gas. They also had loud luxury. You can’t go wrong here. Their parties are eh.
Chi Phi: probably the best “rankings wise” out of these four, but mix the same. Chi Phi and pikapp always mix together and are two super similar houses in terms of the guys. Most rushes will cross over between these houses so they’re both worth checking out.
If you want preppy: ZBT would be a good choice
If you want a traditional “animal house” rowdy fraternity: PiKapp
If you want more of a chilled out vibe while still mixing well: Chi Phi
Pike is eh but if you want a solid house it’s a good spot for you.

bump. if you want this frat experience just join chi phi. pikapp is just a highly inferior version of chi phi

Do they make pikapp pledges watch animal house during pledging? Only a pikapp brother would go in such depth about their frat because no one cares enough for the frat. The truth is that you can’t expect an answer from GR. every frat on campus thinks they’re ‘rising’. If you’re worried about your frats social standing when you’re a senior (I doubt you will by that point), then just join a frat that has an active mixing schedule right now and has involved brothers. That prolly means they have a less disaffiliation rate and will be stable for some time

Fairly easy to get a bid at any of the mid houses: pike, phi tau, psk, Pikapp
A little tough but doable: lambda, zbt, chi phi
it’s very easy to impact culture in these frats if you get a solid class as their sorority relations/‘social’ standing is v volatile and goes up and down

Truthfully, the only frat that has a chance to move up significantly would be Sig Nu. Right now they’re considered lower mid, but historically (and I mean their entire history) they’ve been upper mid or upper tier. The alumni support is strong, their yard and house scream multi-way darties, and sororities are fairly open with trying them out. If they take a good spring class (20+ non geeds), they’ll definitely move up.

Literally pikapp went to chi phi once a week this sem and chi phi came to them like once. U have no idea
