Freshman here, genuine question do "ranks" actually affect rush at all? Or is this just people trying to promote their frats

"Ranks" loosely reflect mixing calendar (more exclusive frats with more exclusive srats). Rush is mainly about whether you fit in with the current brothers or not, and it'd be dumb not to sign with a house where you really mesh and feel like home in favor of one where you don't just because the latter is "ranked" higher on an anonymous website.
