ASU v Cornell (becoming a tough decision)

by: finance bro

I’m having a tough time between committing to one of these. On one hand, there is the academic powerhouse of ASU that places people in Princeton and MIT for grad school and Top firms right out of senior year ... and then Cornell which is offering me good financial aid and a chance to become an alcoholic. Where would you go and why? I’m also pretty sure I’ll get an acceptance from UT Dallas which is probably comparable to Cornell.

Cornell is a fantastic school with one of the best of the best CAS and Engineering programs but im saying the acceptance rate is low due to just the sheer surplus in applicants ... kids reject Cornell for WashU, JHU, USC and Georgetown all the time, some are just applying just to see if they can get in to the lowest Ivy League for bragging rights senior year, but nothing more

i kinda agree. if you just look at Cornell CAS and Engineering (and like half of Dyson), you'll only see superstars.. but once we include HumEc, Hotel, ILR, etc it gets really bad... Cornell CAS and Engineering are the real Ivy League level programs here, the rest are state school comparable...
