Lehigh University sits on a hillside in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and its Greek system has been a central part of campus social life for well over a century. With a mid-size undergraduate enrollment and a residential campus feel, the Greek community here carries real weight in how students spend their time outside the classroom.

The system is organized primarily through IFC and Panhellenic councils, covering a solid number of fraternities and sororities. Beyond those two, there are also multicultural Greek organizations on campus, including chapters affiliated with NPHC and MGC traditions, which rounds out the overall picture. The range of organizations — from long-established IFC houses like Kappa Alpha Society and Chi Psi to Panhellenic staples like Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Alpha Theta — means there are different kinds of communities to plug into.

Fraternity housing is a big part of the Lehigh experience. Many of the IFC chapters have houses on or near campus, and those houses tend to serve as social hubs, especially on weekends. The Hill, as it's sometimes called, is where a lot of that activity is concentrated. Rush for fraternities typically happens in the fall and draws a meaningful chunk of the freshman class. Sorority recruitment follows Panhellenic's formal process and usually runs in the spring semester.

Greek life at Lehigh isn't just a side activity — for a lot of students it's pretty woven into the social fabric of the school. That said, the university has had ongoing conversations about Greek culture and accountability over the years, and the administration stays fairly involved in how chapters operate. Philanthropy events and community service are standard across most chapters, and inter-Greek events draw participation from across the system.

The community on sites like this one shows a high level of engagement, with thousands of ratings and discussion posts logged over time, which tells you students here are actively talking about and comparing their experiences with Greek organizations on campus.
