Im in a bad situation rushing frats

I am from dunwoody and I had no clue what Greek life was until a couple of weeks ago. I signed up late and now all of the bids im getting or being promised are from dry houses like SigEp or Sigma Nu, or the really weird bottom tier dry ones I didnt like, such as DKE or OX.
One of my friends is in a similar situation and said he is waiting until KS gets back but said it may be possible to rush them now? How do I sign up for that or is there anyone I can contact for more information? Apparently my older cousin was a Kappa Sig here from 2018 to when he graduated in 2021. I tried asking him and he said it's not possible until they're back but my bud says otherwise.

The guy above is right take the SN bid. They also are not a dry fraternity, they just aren't as active as most others near them. They spend most of their social budget on 2 or 3 big parties a semester so people incorrectly assume they are dry. Half of KS got canned and won't be back until Jan 2028, they will probably be good but not above upper mid or below mid. No point waiting for a fraternity like that. SN overtook KS as the new low top fraternity.

I ended up not taking a bid. My cousin put me in contact with what's left of his chapter here and im just going to wait until they come back. My GF's sorority she is pledging is AOll and apparently they hangout a lot with the old chapter anyways. I thought hard about SN, especially after I realized I was lied to about them by another fraternity, but decided to go with where my cousin was. SN and KS guys are both awesome imo, idk why they are lower than KA SX or Beta. I met guys from all 3 and they were all awkward. Not weird but also not easy to talk to.

KA SAE SN KS and to a lesser extent ATO have always been the best southern/southern-ish brats here. ChiPhi SX and Fiji are all considered good too but used to be more northern than they are now. Some Ohio/PA/NJ/NY guys but mostly southern OOS now since the 90s.

It would've been fun to go SN but I think ultimately I'll be happy with this decision and there are a lot of guys, almost a dozen, who started rushing late like me that are hanging around them and not taking bids too. It just sucks that most fraternities do their rushing over the summer and you need guys who know about Greek life or are in it to tell you when to rush or what Greek life even is. Idk how the pledge class will end up but I think we will have some good guys coming on. And they said there will be close to 30 or 40 guys from the old chapter when they return which is less than half of them but they all seem pretty chill to me.

I don't think this is going to work out like you expect and I'm sorry for you. You will not get the experience of bonding with your peers in a pledge class as a freshman, and going through all four years with each other. It's your pledge class that's everything and there's nothing like it. IDK what you think it's going to be like when you're a soph and trying to start that chapter back. Typically it's a condition of the school and the national that any former members remaining will not be allowed to affiliate when it comes back. And some of them will be graduating anyway, so you have made some friends for now, so okay. Anyway, best of luck.
