Best advice for a pnm?? Plz!

There are always lots of girls just like you. You are going to be fine. Keep in mind that the sororities do not ever see your rankings of them, so that is not a consideration during their membership selection. That means that some of your favorites will not ask you back. But don't take it personally, it's just because of numbers and each chapter is held to an absolute number of pnm's they can have back, and pnm's they absolutely love don't make their cutoff. It's hard on both sides of rush and both pnm's and actives get absolutely gutted when their favorites are no longer an option. But it's important to not let emotions get the better of you and ruin your rush; keep focused and do your best at the choices you are presented with. If you have favorites at round 3 then tell them so, and if you have a clear top choice at pref then tell them that. They can't read your mind and if you aren't clear about how you feel they may not rank you as highly. Don't compare your rush to anyone else's, don't listen to gossip or rank talk, TRUST YOUR OWN GUT.

The best advice is to ignore the lists on this site and worrying about if you are rushing the "best" sorority. You want to find the house that fits you. That should be your goal because when you do that you end up in the "best" sorority for you. To do this you must go into rush with an open mind. Don't act like you are too good for a set of sororities because you have been told they are "bottom tier". All the sororities at UGA are good. It really is just a matter of finding the one you fit in with, and the rush process does do that if you will trust it.

Also, if you keep an open mind and don't get hung up on a few sororities then you will save yourself a lot of tears and drama (and your parents too). You can only join one sorority. I don't care how many invited you to meet them the first day. You cannot join them all. You will get cut by a sorority you like and kept by one that you are less interested in. That is normal. You are not choosing them. They are choosing you.

All you can do is keep an open mind, give each sorority a chance to get to know you and you them, and trust the process. You may not see how you fit in with them at first but the sororities can tell if you will. And don't believe that some sororities are not selective. They all cut people. They are not all looking for the same girl. They are looking for PNMs who fit in with them. The good news is if you follow through you should end (and most likely will) up in a house that is a good fit. Good luck!

Just remember, You will be doing something so many girls wish they could. Joining a srat at UGA is a unique experience! So trust you’ll find the right srat for you.
All srats have socials, events, service work, sisterhood, etc. Don’t worry about ranks or anything. Talk to the members and go with your gut.

Bumping this bc there is good advice. Rankings on this site are so bad and not a reflection of the srats. A ranking can’t tell you which house you’ll be comfortable with.

Keep notes after every house visit. You think you’ll remember, but you often can’t remember who said what. Make your notes very private. Keep your evaluations or leanings as to where you’d like to return PRIVATE. Other girls don’t have to know your thoughts about this right now. “ I’m still keeping an open mind! “ is a good response. Where do you feel comfortable? Where could you feel valued for your contributions? IYKYK.
