Sophomore Pledge
by: IsoxyzI’m an incoming 2027 transfer. I’m wanting to rush but will be a year older than my sophomore peers, and obviously a sophomore. Is it a bad idea to try to pledge as an almost 21 year old sophomore. I got some buddy’s in a couple frats and they think I would be okay but should do it any later than fall 2027 as I’m 21. What’s yall opinions on if I should go through with it or not?

Fall 2027 is a long way out and you are not even accepted into UGA yet. You will be 21 pledging with 17/18 year old high schoolers. I wouldn't expect that to be fun and I wouldn't expect to get bids from the top houses. I would look for a fraternity that has no pledgeship or a very short one.
