rushing w/o connections?

hi i’m sorry if this is a dumb question or if i’m getting ahead of myself. i’m from south FL and i’m a first gen college student so i don’t really know anyone in greek life to write me recs. i know that coming to uga that i at least wanna rush and give it a shot, even if greek life doesnt end up being for me!
am i gonna get dropped by most houses after round 1 without any connections ? i’m smart, easy to talk to, and i like to think i’m cute and dress well too. do i have any hope or is rush here really that intense?

all i’m aiming for is middle tier maybe upper mid if i get through. don’t think the top houses are for me!
i just want a good sisterhood and socials lol

You should definitely rush and see how you like it! Lots of girls come in without connections but and ended up having a good rush experience so just be positive and be yourself. And if you have a good GPA and test scores that will get you far as well
