York University is a large commuter-heavy school in Toronto, and that context shapes just about everything when it comes to campus social life — including the Greek system. Most students don't live on or near campus long-term, which gives YU a different rhythm than a traditional residential university. Greek life exists here, but it operates more as a close-knit, opt-in community than a dominant part of campus culture.
