So I have been apart of recruitment as a PNM, a member inside the house, as well as a recruitment counselor outside the house helping PNM’s! I have seen it all! My best advice to potential new members is of course to trust the process and don’t let nerves get the best of you! I know that may be easier said then done, but know that come bid day you will be exactly where you need to be. Prior to recruitment, try to come in as unbiased as possible so you can receive the best experience. Being open minded throughout this process will optimize your chances of a bid and a ensure that you will be overjoyed on bid day! Also — it is helpful to not talk to and compare your experience with other PNM’s during formal recruitment. Someone sitting next to you may love the house you didn’t. It is important to not let others opinions as well as your own, dictate yours or another persons experience. Lastly, recruitment will surprise you and often will be not what you expected! But roll with it because it is so worth it at the end of the week as well as at the end of your college experience ❤️

Hi! So ive gone through recruitment as a PNM, active sister and rho gam and the main thing with it all is trust your gut. When you get cut know that it is not personal and that the girls in the house got to know you for 15 minutes. for philanthropy round ask questions. get two letters of rec from each house if possible and if you need to go to " find an Aggie" and email as many as possible to write recs and say that you're first gen and would love to talk to them and send a resume before they make their decision. Wear clothes that you will be confident in. Buy a battery fan from amazon for 15$ its worth it. Talk about things in houses that you're passionate about. Make your conversations memorable and personal. Remember your actives names and write them down so if you get asked back you can say to your new girl that you really enjoyed talking to _____ yesterday and you're happy to be back. It shows investment. For philanthropy round always ask questions. ask how they have personally supported the cause or if they have ever volunteered at PMH/ Pheobes house/ etc. tell them that you're looking for a house that if strong in ________ (academically, heart for service, etc) and ask what are the best things about that house. Ask how you as a new member would be able to engage with the philanthropy/ with the older actives through sisterhood events

MEGA BUMP on saying something memorable. especially during go Greek. we are talking to 7 girls in one day, if you dont know anyone in the house and dont make yourself stand out it is so easy to fall through the cracks
